Zones of Regulation

We can sort different emotions into zones

There are four different zones that we can categorise emotions with. The blue zone is the slow zone. This zone is for feelings like sadness and tiredness. 'Green is for go' and the emotions that belong here are happiness and hopefulness. This is the best zone for learning. We need to proceed with caution in the yellow zone. This zone is for feelings like frustration and anxiousness. When we are in the red zone, we can be out of control. This can happen if we feel feelings such as anger or terror.

There are no bad zones and we will all experience feelings in each of the zones at some point.
