YHF Food Share scheme

A food share scheme is coming to Ysgol Hendrefelin
We are here to make sure pupils and the parents/ carers of our pupils are well -fed, and they have all the nutrients that they need! These packages will include essential items such as: fresh fruit, vegetables, bread, cakes and household items.
By participating, you’re not only helping to reduce food waste but also making a big difference for the planet! Every meal shared prevents good food from going to waste, cutting down on greenhouse gases and reducing our carbon footprint. Together, we can ensure that no food is wasted and that everyone has access to nutritious meals.
Please support us in protecting the planet and reduce food waste.

Article 24 — Right to the best possible health
This includes access to nutritious food and clean drinking water, which are essential to good health. Food banks help ensure that children and their families have access to adequate nutrition.
This includes protection from environmental pollution and access to clean water and safe food — all threatened by climate change.
Article 27 — Right to a standard of living adequate for physical, mental, spiritual, moral, and social development
Governments must help families who cannot afford to provide this. Food banks can be part of that support, ensuring children grow up with their basic needs met.
Article 6 — Right to survival and development
Every child has the right to life, survival, and development. Access to food is fundamental for this.
Climate change threatens children’s survival and development through extreme weather, pollution, and loss of resources. Protecting the environment helps fulfill this right.
Article 3 — Best interests of the child
In all actions concerning children, the child’s best interests must be a top priority. Supporting food bank schemes ensures children’s welfare and well-being, including safeguarding the planet they will inherit.
